This may be easy for you to say as you may not have been of the over 500 to 1000 mostly nonunion who were let go. The sacrifice of these employees often in their fifties are the main reason the Strib is now successful. No future obligations. Their union and management staff was barely touched in relative terms. They still have family health care and other great benefits. They are just working harder because some are doing the jobs of those sacrificed. Of course some of this had to...

Did not Clinton apologize for our treatment of the native americans? As did Australia for the aborigines. Does not that also have some legal implications. I think this is one time when the Democrats use religious language. I think Democrats are more in touch with their inner Yoda.

Let us see they have Hwy 62, 494, 169, 394 &35 W both with HOV lanes plus other county highways. What about the east side of St Paul should that just be for the elderly?

David thank you for your reply. I guess I was somewhat aware of local county resistance but you now confirmed it. It would make for a great historical article. One other question for the future then, the line from Big Lake to Mpls doesn't serve redevelopment well in NW suburbs as it is located on the river and far from some retail. Would better bridges help? Actually I find Central Avenue to be rather charming altho I am sure there are those who disagree.
