For what it's worth, I heard this story on the radio
about the time this article was posted.

Studies: Rich Don't Flee High-Tax States
by Robert Smith, National Public Radio

To Bernice,(#18) I'd vote for whatever amendment or
re-write necessary to remove/change gender specific
language eg. he, his, man, etc. from the state
constitution to make it gender inclusive.

Foreign policy heft? More than seeing Russia
from Alaska?

Cities and counties forced to hold the line on costs
and services? How about that as a job creation strategy?
Potholes in the streets and and highways don't get fixed,
get bigger and bigger. Drivers have to replace tires,
axles, CV joints, front end alignments; good for the
economy! And the cost gets shifted to the end-user as
usual! Oh wait. Fuel prices are on the way up, people
may drive less, and this won't work with a dramatic
decrease on...

I recall hearing an earlier recorded
message by Bill Kling saying the proposed
cuts could equal 5% of the MPR budget as
noted above. I haven't heard that version
lately, and the tone is almost of epic
proportions during pledge breaks of late.
Granted, 5% would have an effect, but
doomsday?

What about getting lost in a dense forest?
I've read that adults tend to wander in
circles, and that a child will often stay
in one place until found.

Another thought: Imagine politicians blinded by their adherence to ideology leading the
country in aimless circles repeating the
same talking points over and over again.

Posted on 11/04/10 at 12:36 am in response to GOP's saber-rattling Tony Sutton vows aggressive recount fight

It is rare that I react by turning my radio off completely; I usually just change the station. I was listening to
MPR this morning and heard the Sutton/GOP news conference. The point at which I turned off my radio was after his C.Y.A. remark. (I hope I'm not violating MinnPost standards in referring to that!)

I'm not in agreement with the all of the
MN electorate in this election, but perhaps Mr. Sutton isn't getting the message that the electorate is willing to have a...

Lance, you left an opening that I couldn't resist. To restate an old saw, if all your
problems look like trees, all you need is
an axe!

I know a local attorney who represents Mennonite
Central Committee (a church relief agency) on de-
mining issues/ordnance at the national and inter-
national level. Some links to more info:

Isaiah 2:4 (New International Version)

4 He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.
