At about 1:00 am last Saturday night, my wife and I were out on the patio of our home in St. Paul when we heard a strange sound above us. We looked up and saw a long formation of white swans flying to the northwest, and making a quiet kind of call. It was absolutely beautiful - something we'd never seen, the ghostly white birds against the dark blue/black sky. The birds' call was a kind of murmuring - gentle and quiet. The Republicans are so fond of speaking on behalf of "the people" and while I don't know everyone in Minnesota, I know a lot of "people" and very very few are represented by those who are speaking for them.

Jim - nicely done. We were at Andrew Bird, but I, like Joel, was very aware of what night it was.
