Further weakening of FDA rules is definitely
not in the public interest, and I am very disappointed in Sen. Al Franken on that score.
Device manufacturers are already practically writing the rules, the way banks write financial regulation and oil companies dictates energy policy.

A good illustration of the corruption in cardiology is the evolution of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation. This is a corporate-driven procedure of questionable safety and effectiveness, yet it is being promoted as a first line therapy and even a "cure" for afib.
