Nice article -- as a boomer, glad to see these issues addressed.

Here is a link to a recent blog post that describes a program to help job seekers in Arizona. I was among the speakers at a recent session on starting your own business (many boomers in attendance.) The best talk came from "Pittsburgh Willy" who followed his dream and started a restaurant at age 53.

Two quick questions:

First, has Rep. Downey actually ever started and/or run a business?

Second, has Rep. Downey actually ever improved things for his clients (in a measurable way)as a "management consultant?"

In short -- does he have a track record, or is he just another platitude spouting (right-sizing, redesign, gag...)politician?

Just curious.

Loved the article, but where did the time go?

Here is my favorite "boomer" story, from the "welcome geezer" page of my new blog at jumptoconsulting.com.

My wife and I recently attended a talk on staying active in retirement. Even though I’m not retired (and may never do so fully), at my age I’m always interested in what people have to say about the subject. In any event, the Q&A session provided some humor, and left us with a refreshing thought.
