Oh boy the Sierra club is weighting-in. Why don't you take all of your club's money and start buying up land and turning it into parks instead of telling me how to live my life. Oh by the way, I have been riding a bike to work for over 30 years, long before the pretty boys starting wearing their fancy helmets and spending thousands of dollars on titanium bikes.

Mike I also agree with you, not a cent of tax payer money for a stadium. NOT ONE BLASTED CENT...

Jeff,

We call him a CINO (conservative in name only). He represents what has been wrong with the Rep party here in Minnesota and the country. Rep should cut spending AND don't raise taxes.

Like most of the people that read minnpost, they cannot comprehend what this means. I have yet to see a statistic that defines what is the appropriate amount of taxation that doesn't stymie growth? What is that percent? 5%, 10 %, 80% of Minnesota’s GDP?

Here is an old adage that...

Posted on 03/17/10 at 12:37 pm in response to As Climate Change debate wages on, scientists turn to Hollywood for help

"The current climate-change furor has become the poster child for what happens when there’s a communications gap between scientists and the public. The vast majority of scientists see compelling evidence that the world’s climate is about to change significantly, and that the change is largely driven by human activity. Yet polls show public opinion becoming more skeptical about climate change."

I am a scientist, and I know of thousands of other scientist that do not believe "...

Jeff Klein you want facts: You forgot something….

It wasn’t just Bill Clinton, there was that one thorny issue(s) called Newt and “the contract with America” that stood in the way of Clinton’s tax and spend. Bill C had to go the right to get things done. Remember John Kasich and his rubber chicken during the budget hearings in the house?? Facts are important..Reagan was no panecea but he was critical in ending the cold war “Remember Reagans talk at the Berlin Wall….definitely...

First, the invalid should be cared for, yes… they ARE cared for, help for a brain injured person should and does happen (have a relative that is living it today, with a family.) Casatrophic insurance is needed but here you all stand around and preach because you have a golden parachute health insurance. OK go out and give your money to help the other folks that need the health care but don’t steal from someone else just because you think they are rich.

Please define to me what is...

Jeremy,
So I have to take care of your health care hmmm? Tim, Mike and Michele are talking about personal responsibility but I guess that is loss to you. OK lets steal (ie tax) other peoples money and give it to you. hmmm? that doesn't sound very xmassy either. But you can only look at it from one side. We need some type of reform but not the stupid reform requested by the health care bill in front of congress.

175K is not enough. Should have been more like a million. Really make it hurt. The airline essentially kidnapped the passengers. Maybe a criminal charge would have been more appropriate.

Your comments above don't jive with the literature. You say:

The framers of the Constitution were, for the time in which they operated, advocates of a strong federal government. Madison, Hamilton, Franklin, George Washington and the rest of the guys (not Thomas Jefferson, who wasn’t at the Constitutional Convention and who was generally not an advocate of a strong federal government) gave the new national government that they created as much power as they thought they could get...

So you need to create more laws to make a difference? That is the problem with most of MN is that they don't have a clue about what liberty means. It means that you make choices that will determine your future. Gov should be minimized to the max. Common defense, infrastructure, real pollution (NOT GLOBAL WARMING) and care for the infirm. The rest is up to you. If MN did this, taxes would fall. People would take responsibility… WE DON’T NEED more legislation in fact we should require...
