MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Michael, I think it's one of the interesting things unearthed by the exercise ... just how dominant sports is. I've always said the last section of the last newspaper will be sports ...
As to the more fundamental question: does Twitter (and more broadly, social-networking) increase sports' dominance at the expense of news more important to civic democracy ... don't know. Could argue it's reflective of an existing reality, but sure could be acclerating ...
Kevin: generally, if a blogger (partisan or not) analyzes local news and does actual reporting (interviews, doc-looking, etc.) -- however tendentious it might be -- I included them. I tried not to include those paid by partisan organizations (such as you in your MnHouse incarnation). The same rule applied to play-by-play people in sports paid by the team (Paul Allen there through KFAN; if he'd only been Vikes guy would not have been included).

Not quite the grievous undershooting of legend, but still a small undererppresenation.
However, it's important to remember that other states don't have Minnesota's Constitutional requirement that voters who don't vote on the amendment are counted as no's. It's my guess that polls are undercounting non-votes, and may mitigate any undercounting of...
Thanks for letting us know ... we'll add to chart. Any way for non-subscribers to read online?
The PiPress says the don't endorse, and don't use the words "vote yes" in the linked editorial, but I defy anyone to actually read the lengthy evisceration of the opposition and come away with any other conclusion.
Pollsters are all concerned about this - response rates have dipped under 10 percent in some cases, a third of what they were a few years ago.

As you note, the danger is a sample that differs greatly from the non-poll-answering majority.
Some pollsters - St. Cloud State included - give themselves time to make...
You must be thinking of someone else. Stand behind the facts in the reportage and my analysis/opinion, however (which I suspect you subjectively disagree with). Minnesotans United didn't know this piece was coming.
