MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Stay tuned.
Rob, I think we can at least say the MFT is politically powerful. I don't have a full roster in front of me, but I don't think very many school board members have won without their endorsement.
I agree that hoop-jumping can add costs, but so often, what's going on here is the developers are trading the "certainty" of the zoning code (which may stop their dream) for the "uncertainty" of pushing deviations (in some cases, dramatic ones).
In the case of Linden Corners, the code pretty clearly allows the project as it is newly constituted (3 stories, a couple of lots). The only variance needed is for some balconies, and my prediction is this sucker gets through. But originally,...
If you're talking Linden Corners, it didn't die -- it just came back as a three-story project within the zoning code. The developer SWORE it wouldn't work unless it was taller until, viola, it did.
I'm all for densification (perhaps much more at this Calhoun site) but we shouldn't take developers' claims at face value. As much as I like Michael Lander, the housing market blew up on him. I do think residents deserve some consideration for shading and other significant effects if...
Roll Call, which broke the story, had an arrest report, so that's one difference, the other is that Craig, unlike Gauthier, was arrested.
Really good question - overall flat in the past year but way up among 25-54 women. I wonder if some of the old B96 crowd spends more time with Kmoja lately.
Jim, all I can say about the year-ago piece is that there WAS powerful evidence - the Arbitron ratings. (The Current rose from a 1.5 percent share to 4.5 percent.)
As I wrote at the time, the Arbitron people-meter system has critics, who think a few panelists can skew things unreasonably. A year later, I'd say those critics have more ammo. That's why I included more on the caveats higher up.
All that said, this is still the best evidence we have beyond opinions, so I'll keep...
Down overall, but up from 19th to 15th place 25-54
Working on getting you an update now. PS I think MyTalk overall is basically flat since the fired Colleen Kruse.
Don't know about "fair" (don't conservatives argue that's a relative term?) but all of their daytime shows are down - some by as much as half.
