There's one incredibly immoral piece in this bill that's easy to miss because it's an amendment of the "delete lines 4-7 of section 2, subparagraph B" type.

This bill removes all requirements for school districts to move toward integration. It eliminates integration goals and all of the accountability measures in place around them.

This is truly disgusting legislation. It's legislation that couldn't even pass in the South because of federal law provisions that make scrutiny...

I hope the media asks the Republicans why the House transportation committee just introduced a bill to cut all state general funds that go to transit. How is this good for anyone?

It's absolute insanity up on the hill. We need headlines about it!

Of course there's no time for public input. I know multiple people who have tried to contact both Zellers and Koch. They are constituents. Not only did they not get a meeting, they didn't even get a response.

There should be headlines about this kind of thing in the papers.

What's the penalty for this parole violation? Will he be legally allowed to continue to serve in the legislature?

Funny how the Republicans like to say "throw the &^$3@ in jail!" when it's a black man.

Sorry, Nienstedt has no credibility on this with me, a Catholic. His constant drumming about "gay marriage" put the very people in office who are now attempting to absolve us of any responsibility to the poor, oppressed and vulnerable.

Thanks, Archbishop. And no, I won't be leaving the Church, thank you very much.

So if LGA gets cut will the Republicans allow the cities to retain their sales tax revenues? The bargain instituting LGA required cities to give their sales tax revenues to the state. If the GOP is ending that bargain, it better be well and truly ended. Then we'll see how much they like the resulting wealth concentration in Minneapolis.

But no, the GOP have never been about keeping promises or honoring commitments.

@Neal

At least one targeted project is shovel-ready: Union Depot. It's more than shovel-ready -- the shovels are already in the ground!

@Bill

Votes and campaign money.

@Danie

Citation, please? I have read many reports that health experts cannot link any ill effects to TMI.

The Japanese planned for a magnitude 8 earthquake. They got a magnitude 9. That's a huge difference in energy.

It's true, we can only plan for what we can anticipate. But even so, this is not yet a HUGE catastrophe.

There are some reports that the spent fuel pool in reactor 3 has no water. This is much more serious than anything going on with the reactors...

@Dan,

It's important to ask, "what's happening there?" before trying to figure out if it can happen here.

I have been absolutely disgusted by the coverage of the earthquake and associated things by the mainstream media. There's way too much hype and sensationalism. Below is what I understand "happened there." Good summaries are here:
