MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
You're probably right. I don't like what it says.
It got some things correct (first amendment), but other things either overly ambiguous or dead wrong (second amendment).
The irony, of course, is that you call the WashPost poll bogus, then tell us what Rasmussen belched. Rule of thumb for Rasmussen polls is subtract 5 from the R and add 5 to the D. So there you go.
Also, my wife and I hold jobs and "head" a family, and we DO think in terms that the economy favors the wealthy. Frankly I'm surprised that only 52% agree.
If all this is true, and boomers will experience an exodus to the core cities, why are the populations of Minneapolis and Saint Paul stagnant? Neither of them grew at all from 2000 to 2010. Saint Paul and Ramsey County both lost population, a fact not included in this article. (As a resident of Ramsey County, I take that as a very bad sign.)
Now, I would like to see a breakdown of the population trends year-by-year, because obviously a lot of weird things happened in the last few...
"The majority wins."
Except for when the majority are Democrats. Then they lose.
"They both target politically weak minorities who will have to rely on the goodwill of the rest of us to protect their interests."
Which is exactly why these two neanderthal ideas have absolutely zero place in the constitution. That document serves to protect the rights of the minority from the tyranny of the majority.
You know what I'd like to see? An amendment that puts the following requirements on ALL future amendments:
- 75% approval in house AND senate
-...
@craig furguson
Because it's a stepping stone -- to the US House, Senate, Presidency, maybe to a highly-paid lobbyist position. I would bet that few people stay long in the state legislature who aren't already wealthy.
Gosh darn that hippie-commie Obama administration. Oh, wait.
Well, that settles it. I'm definitely tossing my blades after five weeks. The manufacturer told me so.
Well, as long as it's worked great for Dennis Tester, I'm convinced. No pay for these greedy people!
I particularly like the bit about the freedom of religion being under attack. Even my 1-year-old, when she wakes in the morning, doesn't stretch that much.
Did anyone tell Santorum that the economy is improving right now? Or has he willfully chosen to ignore that fact? He wouldn't be the first Republican to do so. I mean, if our country after Bush's recession didn't turn into what appears in this clip to be post-Chernobyl Ukraine, I doubt it'll ever happen.
And as far as...
