MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
This would be meaningful if anyone actually read the dang thing.
I filled out the FASA for the first time the other day and I found it to be extremely easy and intuitive. No issues whatsoever.
So does this end quickly? We need 4000 votes to switch. I'm not seeing it or am I missing something?
Ah but Neal, Sutton isn't trying to get an A in his statistics class. He's trying to sow doubt and fear about voting in Minnesota. So even if Dayton is declared the winner, he has a bunch of motivated conservatives howling about an election stolen from the Republicans. You can bet they will be motivated to vote next time.
This is what they did two years ago with the Senate race where you still have conservatives stating there was fraud in that election even though Coleman's own...
I am guessing that since Representative Zellers is so keen on creating jobs that we will see vigorous budgets for MNSCU, the U of MN, and K-12 education as numerous studies have shown that education is the path toward a strong and healthy economy.
I think the 9700 or so vote differential will make this recount a lot different. In Coleman-Franklin and a couple hundred vote differential, intellectually it wasn't a stretch to see a 300 vote swing. Now it will take 5000 votes. If the margin stays that big, there will be pressure on Emmer to give up once the recount is over.
That's a nice takedown of the Carr article, which I thought was insufferable. I'm guessing Carr doesn't watch TDS. He seemed generally surprised that Stewart took whacks at Media and not the Right. Note to Carr, Stewart has always been about skewering the media, your article (had it been in video form) would have been easy pickin's.
This could be so easy to counteract. Why don't those who are concerned about this overwhelm the phone number? Let's face it, they aren't going to get a whole lot of calls on Tuesday. It wouldn't take a whole lot of effort to get people to call in bogus fraud claims for Eagan, Woodbury, Delano, etc. Make Election Integrity Watch spend their resources on bogus claims. Come on young people who are concerned about this, have some fun and overwhelm the call in number.
Yes SUSA nailed the 2006 Gub race but I would argue they lucked into it. The last few days of that race saw a lot of independents go to the R's after Dutcher's E85 gaffe and Hatch's Republican Whore remark. I don't think SUSA caught that and if Hatch and Dutcher had just been a little more disciplined, could have won that race by a couple of percentage points. I would say the SUSA repuation as being 4 points in favor of R's is well-earned.
perhaps the party base will rethink its current strategy and next time choose the candidate best suited to win. Rather than the candidate that most appeals to the ideology of the party base.
Hey Richard, if the DFL didn't learn that lesson after 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, what makes you you think they will learn it now?
