How does increasing the taxation on people, sending more money to the government, affect whether or not poor people take their 13 years of free education more seriously?
How would confiscating all of the wealth in our society affect whether or not poor people choose to eat fast food or smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol or have kids out of wedlock? All of which are legal.
The societal conditions of poor people have nothing to do with rich people or how much of their money the...
Mr. Hamilton asks: "Is compulsory enrollment in and payment for Medicare unconstitutional as well, in your opinion? If not, why not?"
Congress has the power to tax and since Medicare is paid for by a payroll tax, it is not unconstitutional.
However, supposedly we all will pay for Obamacare by buying a private insurance policy. That is not a tax, that is a congressional mandate to buy something and the courts have already hinted that it won't pass muster. Otherwise, the...
We have people analyzing the republicans' body language and stage kraft, we can name Sarah Palin's kids and Mitt Romney's religion, but no one can be bothered to find Obama's college transcripts.
Huntsman has no chance simply because the press and the democrats like him. We learned our lesson with McCain. They want him nominated, not elected.

It seems to me that if it was all that dire, they could pass the hat amoungst the state's rich liberals to make up the difference. I'm sure they wuld feel better about getting their money from people who actually support their mission anyway.
Heck, maybe Mark Dayton could be talked into covering it himself.
That's rich. The guy who's on daily psychotropic medication is accusing others of being "out of touch." heh
The republican proposal represents a 6% increase in spending. We don't need, nor can we afford any more than that.
Democrats talk about the miserable eight years under Bush, but the average unemployment rate during the Bush years was about 4.5%
The price of gasoline when Bush left office was about $1.85 a gallon.
This election is going to be about jobs and the economy in general.
It'll be interesting to see Obama try to run on his record when the GOP candidate (Rick Perry, imho) asks the same question Ronald Reagan did in 1980: "Are you better off now than you were four years ago...
The dilemma for the democrat party is that Obama is either the "black president," expected to advance the agenda of people like Cornell West and other black leftists, or he's the president who happens to be black, and who has no race-based agenda but who works to improve the economy and lives of all Americans who voted for him.
The problem we're seeing is that whichever personna he's seen as adopting, he's going to alienate half of the people who voted for him who had certain...
