"Iowans of faith know that Michele Bachmann, more than any other candidate in the race, can be counted on to defend and encourage the traditional, Christian values that made our country the greatest nation on Earth"
Interestingly enought however, is the fact that this country was based on religious freedom (albeit in the Christian form) and it was those searching for religious freedom who were running away from the traditional, Old Christian values of the old world. Those who do not...
Anderson and Stauber are both more then likely using this issue to set up future runs at larger office. Anderson is already challenging for the DFL 8th primary and Stauber's comments during the vote clearly aline him with the conservative GOP roots and his belief that personally he only defines marriage as a union between and man and woman.
“We’re the third-largest city in the state, and we’ve traditionally taken the lead on a lot of social issues,” Do we really want to dig into...
"After the debates that we had last week, PolitiFact came out and said that everything that I said was true,"
The sad part is, She actually believe that what she says is true.
"Thank God or whoever you thank" for people and leadership from people like Rep. John Kriesel.
Thank you for your service and thank you for your leadership.
Minnesota spends more than 40% if it's yearly budget, billions of dollars, on jobs training programs...they're called K-12 schools.
That is exactly the problem, today's public schools for the most part are still set up in the model of the 1950's education system, the new economy and inter-connected world needs far better training in Math, Science, and critical thinking. Just passing High School doesn't mean anything, most students who pass are not college ready, let alone ready to...
@5 Dennis
Really you want to get into that arguement over a few cases of abuse or oversight. Should we start listing all the millionairs and billionairs who don't pay taxes and have off shore accounts to hide their wealth.
I won't even start on Corporations and how their abuses.
Wow, I didn't think I would live to see the day that I actually agreed with most of what Mr. Swift had to say in one of his posts, and I am only in my 30's.
I agree with the vast majority of your assessment and individuals need to due a vast amount of the self assessment, however unlike you, I do not see government as an object simply in the way. Government on every level, but especially local, along with non-profits, and the business community can work together to go a long way to...
C.T.E is the same condition Bengals football player Chris Henry had when he jumped out of the back of a moving truck and died. He was addicted to painkillers and had many extreme emotional behavior due to the condition. I love football and hockey as much as anyone, but I really think the leagues need to set aside some sort of "long term care" money for its players. Sadly many of these pro athelete's develop the condition in college or highschool sports and due to the rigerous demands of...
Then move!
I ask the questions here.....
