the book my dissertation sponsor wrote called "Root Shock." It told the seldom heard story of urban redevelopment and how it destroyed the black community. Redevelopment predates the civil rights struggles for integration so we focused on eating at the white owned establishment, which is a major struggle and the wholesale destruction of our neighborhoods went on silently.
