It looks like Tim Pawlenty could once again be gambling his political future for Coleman's benefit. Hopefully he will see the writing on the wall this time!
Kupchella should have gotten in on Boyd Huppert's "Land of 10,000 Stories" gig. If there's a contract attached to that, Boyd is set for life!
Although I have been a fervent Franken supporter, I have been reluctantly OK with all of the challenges so for, especially if they help validate Franken's win and keep the GOP from claiming that Franken somehow "stole" the election.
Should the MN Supreme Court rule in Franken's favor, then it really is time for Coleman to hang it up, and he should get increased pressure from Minnesotans to call it quits. In that respect, this ad seems premature and it should have only been launched...
As part of both their filings and their oral arguments before the court, Franken's team should ask that the MN Supreme Court also rule that Pawlenty is compelled to sign an election certificate within one business day.
So when will the press put the heat on Coleman to concede - after all he has established a record of losing net votes, not gaining them. And when will Pawlenty be asked about not signing an election certificate being about partisanship vs. good governance. It seems both have lots to lose politically, but most likely Pawlenty has more to lose. Does he want to be the last rat off a sinking ship?
Um... Is this an article? It's 52 words of someone else's story! Where is the context / analysis / original contribution? How about a quote from the Franken camp?
Why does Coburn think this - is it because he is a global warming denier in the pocket of big oil? Is he a partisan hack who doesn't care about the validity of the electoral process? Is he an obstructionist intent on denying Minnesota its full congressional representation while advocating political gamesmanship?
...The current Amtrak station in Midway is useless, and the new Central Corridor line will not even stop at University & Cleveland, so there ar no current plans to provide decent connections between the Empire builder and light rail.
I say run the high-speed line and the Empire builder into Union Depot in St. Paul, make sure the Central corridor line stops there as well, and there will at least be a one-stop train station in the Twin Cities. Getting to Minneapolis wil lbe as simple...
Did Scott Libin say he wasn't going to talk about "personal issues" or "personnel issues"? The distinction is important...
Seniority in the Senate should be a major concern now and in the future. Had Franken been allowed to be seated provisionally when the Senate convened at the beginning of January, he would have been 95th (or so), instead he would now be 100th. With Judd Gregg (R-NH) potentially leaving to head Commerce, we once again havethe opportunity to get at least a little seniority. Something to ponder, legislators and Pawlenty, as this helps determine committee spots and the ability to chair down...
