Gary Schiff - assembles the old Brian Coyle Coalition. GLBTG Could make inroads into Hispanic community. Strongest stadium opponent amongst those running. Best business hater.

Minnpost writer covered this event pretty well. I was there. Room 15 was stuffed with 2nd Amendment advocates. I counted 3-5 public supporters of Latz's bill. Roughly 140-60 opposed. Overflow room in the Great Hall was 2/3 full. I've sat through plenty of hearings. I've never scene a chairman publically threaten to not put any fellow members bills on the agenda in the future. But that is what Latz did. He did it from the witness chair.

The committee was heading for a vote. His...

So much time spent wringing hands about something that is not your concern.

Posted on 02/05/13 at 07:41 pm in response to Dayton’s budget: Tom Bakk seeks out business leaders’ views

Some time last fall I was asked by a well meaning friend to join a discussion about the Marrige Amendment. It was advised by the Anti-Amendment pro Marrige supporters to engage those who disagree with them in a fair and open minded fashion. The thought being that open discussion, polite debate, and alleged moral persuasion just might change minds. I chose to engage in such an online debate.

What I got was venomous name calling, 3 organized boycotts of my business. My child was...

Posted on 01/14/13 at 07:10 pm in response to Clothing sales-tax idea getting another spin

Why do DFL'ers have this penchant to tax clothes. Citing stats like 43 states do it "why can't we" is bogus. Did it ever occur to these idiots that poor people can afford just a slightly warmer sock on their foot while they wait at the bus stop on days like today? How about the fact that working stiffs like my self can afford a slightly more durable T-shirt with a pocket because of no tax. Or that my $89 pair of Rockies are not $95. Which means when I see my teen age child, I can buy...

So Cat is moving 100 highpaying jobs with good benefits to WI and GA. I wonder why? You don't think it has anything to do with the two vastly different ways the two governors think about private sector job creators?

Posted on 09/14/12 at 03:33 pm in response to Minneapolis to consider legalizing flea markets

Was it 10 years ago, the city ran pretty much most of the Antique dealers out of town? When they imposed the same rules on Antiques as they do on pawn shops. That drove a whole bunch of them off of 50th & Xerxes South. The cops and license departments used the excuse of fighting crime to raise more money for the endless demand for more new revenue streams. Honestly Minneapolitans, why do you put up with this? Think about it. Antiques worth hundreds if not thousands are being sold in...

I've watched a trend on the left of center political pages such as MinnPost. With out the Gov. Dayton ever contradicting, MinnPost and other journalist have implicitly hinted that Gov Dayton has been looking forward to the 2012 elections with glee. As if it's off the record, but understood, that the Repubs will get clobbered in Nov 2012. What happens if the Repubs maintain their majorities and Mark Dayton choses to veto any Voter ID Enabling Legislation? He will be on the ballot and on...

I hear Congressman Klein is really weak and out of touch with his constituency. I am starting that drumbeat right now. Anyone have an apartment for TClark avail?

Posted on 08/09/12 at 07:47 pm in response to Tarryl Clark hoping her political chops pay off

Hey 218- It's the big cigar here. We're calling from 612/651/952/763. We've invested a lot of MPR time and STRIB space in to T. Clark the past 8 years. Pay no attention to what those people in 320 did two years ago. They didn't know how to listen to their betters. You people north of Hinkley know better. Vote for Clark. We figured she's the best fit for us, woops, I mean you. BTW- if she fails, we gotta start the drumbeat about how Klein in the 2nd district is weak.
