I want to know why when the Media interviews people coming out of Twins games not one of them thinks it was a bad idea to build with taxpayer money? You would think that public was 100% behind building the Twins Stadium with taxpayer money but yet the taxpayer wasn't allowed a vote. Focus groups..pffftt.
Its so much easier spending the public's or other people's money rather than your own. I especially love it when politicians name projects after themselves, as if they paid for it.
As I recall Minnesota raised taxes as well, the voter approved Arts Tax, the Legislator approved Twins Stadium Tax which allowed Hennepin County to raise taxes, and didn't the final increase of the DFL override of T-Paws veto of the gas tax increase go into effect last year as well. Also I think counties we're allowed to increase the sales tax in their given counties .25%. Not to mention voter approved school tax levies.
Wondering about pay walls? Make your site or your blog a pay wall and you'll have your answer.
How do the NY Jets and the NY Giants seem to get along in one stadium but the Vikings and the Gophers can't?
"Bagley went on: "We expect to be treated with some level of respect"
Is he referring to the same respect the Vikings gave to Bobby Wade? Bagley needs to keep this stuff out of the papers, or internet. No public option for a stadium, health care maybe.
back in the day when I was a paperboy for the Minneapolis Tribune, if the TV weekly wasn't in the Sunday paper, I heard about it. I haven't had bought a Sunday StarTrib in years. I'm shocked to hear they had dropped it. Online users, http://www.titantv.com great TV and Cable listings you can customize.
As far as slogans go,
I was raised that Education, Education, Education,Education was the key to jobs, jobs, jobs.
While union jobs are nice and pay well what options do you have if that's all you have, union card? Go ask an auto worker.
If DFL plans to court Union Workers what type of jobs are they promising?
I just returned from my 90 minute lunch with this page up the whole time. That should add a few ticks to the counter.
It was interesting that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys were in town this past week and he said that rich NFL teams shouldn't be subsidizing lower income teams. Funny he forgot to mention that Dallas tax payers are subsidizing his Stadium and football team. I hope the Minnesota legislators remember his statement. Meanwhile, a thank you to the Dallas taxpayers for helping subsidizing the Viking payroll.
