MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
The author fails to mention that Xcel energy just requested a 10% rate hike ($285 million), Minnesota Power is looking to charge rate payers $350 million to install pollution control equipment on their Cohasset plant, and several Minnesota utilities are also looking to pay an enormous amount to build five new peaking plants, at least two of which would be in North Dakota. Factor in the costs of having to build new transmission lines and the fact that we still don't have a long term storage...
I'm really not looking forward to walking around with pockets full of Loon feathers, taconite nuggets and shelled corn, so I'm voting for Klobuchar.
I believe the "a lie can get half way around the world..." quote was from Mark Twain, not Winston Churchill.
How do you know when Tim Pawlenty is spewing partisan spin? His lips are moving.
The Governor has no say up or down on Constitutional amendments. All that has to happen is the House and Senate pass a bill by simple majorities, and it goes on the ballot. So if the Republicans pass a proposed amendment, Gov. Dayton can't veto it.

Seifert could be using state money to buy hookers and blow. I'm not saying that he is, but he could be. Does he attend any outstate committee meetings in his role as a legislator? If so, he's using the taxpayer's dime to fund his campaign, according to his logic.
It's incredibly disappointing and discouraging to think that an elected official, regardless of age, doesn't have the most basic grasp of American history. To think that we have a state legislator out there that doesn't know why using the term "uppity" to describe a black person is really distressing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. A few years ago, a female Republican legislator used the term "wetback" in front of a Hispanic cafeteria worker in the Capitol. She also claimed she...
He was stocking [sic] her? Really? I always thought stockings were what you wore on your feet in the winter. Was he trying to look at her nylons? Was he trying to take her shoes off? Was she even wearing stockings? Does he have a foot fetish? When MB grabbed Pres. Bush, kissed him, and wouldn't let him go, was she also stocking him to see if he was wearing socks? So many unanswered questions here.
This is really scary. As a father of a young daughter, I'm glad this information is coming out. Thanks Ron, and thanks Healthy Legacy for calling attention to these issues.
It makes you wonder about all these other nasty chemicals we keep hearing about, like BPA in baby bottles. Is anybody looking at phasing that nasty little chemical out?
