Then let's drug test every politician on a random basis (but no less than once per quarter). Also require them to prove their claims with provable facts--not opinions. Then publish their unproven claims as such--and let the experts have at them. THEN let the public decide.

Do you have any "real world" business knowledge? I ask because *none* of the "solutions" you proposed can ever work. Example: Selling insurance across state lines. Violates the 10th Amendment (as a starter)--as demonstrated by the credit card issuers (where are they located?). Loser-pays tort reform? LOL !! All the medical liability insurance companies have publicly admitted they would save LESS THAN 1% if that was in force. Oh, precisely such laws ARE in force in TX, FL, and elsewhere--and...

A. Liberal dictator?

B. Conservative executioner?

Posted on 03/28/12 at 10:23 pm in response to If mandatory gun ownership, why not mandatory insurance?

The Militia Act of 1792 specified a *military* grade weapon PLUS items a private person normally would not buy (such as a bayonet). So, your squirrel gun would NOT be acceptable--you had to go out and buy ANOTHER gun (and the other required stuff for it as well) from a private supplier. Plus, people were required to pay for it out of their own funds--no govt funding to cover the cost. If you were a shopkeeper in NYC, why would he need a military-grade rifle and bayonet (and so on)?

The omitted facts are:

1. Martin walked past Zimmerman who says he was out of his car/truck checking the street name (uh, he DOESN'T know the names of the streets where he lives AND "patrols"? Nice try, but...).

2. Zimmerman FOLLOWS MARTIN ON FOOT. *Extremely* suspicious activity by Zimmerman. Follow in vehicle if *following*. But, if you are planning to do MORE than "just follow", well then....

The possible outcomes are:

3.Martin sees he is being followed--and...

They have a KNOWN choice--buy healthcare insurance--or pay a tax penalty. So, the "mandatory purchase" part does not exist. Is this fair? Absolutely. Why? Because they are still able to get healthcare even if they have not paid for it (via insurance) and do not intend to pay for it because the bills are too high ($50k, $60k, etc--which would reasonably be covered by insurance). Social and govt policy generally does not allow them to be left to suffer the consequences of their bad choices (i....

Speculative purchasing problem solved.

He was the *appointed* chief assistant (so to speak) to Koch as Majority Leader. When she left that job, the job *for him* disappeared too. His job was to be the political hatchet man for her. His job was NOT one of "public service"--nor was it classified as such. Other people have civil service positions--so their jobs remain regardless of who is elected.

Because the employer would include the cost-of-living as a relevant factor--right? Thus, unions create a total lower cost for business and all states should then be union (applying your argument to your numbers).

Posted on 03/06/12 at 11:39 am in response to Voter ID plan raises many practical questions

No need for all those thousands of places to vote (because you might be personally identified). Just use your Voter ID to vote anywhere (the idea behind "voter ID" = "proof of identify" = national ID card). Funny how they do NOT want to use something comparable to a Social Security Number (unique, national, every legal resident has one). The ID is the key. Consequences? There is a major incentive to create thousands of FAKE "voter ID" documents to give to fake voters so they can "vote" in...
