MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.

Too bad Mondale didn't get elected. Opening doors should be what America is all about--but it's increasingly shutting them down. Not just in immigration but in ability to get a higher education, for example, and often, for that matter, a high school education. Diversity used to be our key,but it's not anymore. More and more the rich are keeping as much as they can for themselves.
"I have seen presidents of both parties waste more taxpayer dollars on meritless projects, commissions, and programs than every congressional earmark put together.”
Does McConnell include the Iraq and Afghanistan wars among the "meritless projects."?
swift doesn't care about election law or the facts or constitutional issues. As R.T. Rybak said of Sutton, "he's a bomb thrower." Like Sutton his bombs fizzle
Charles Lindbergh Sr. embraced the Nazis and Hitler and did his best to keep us out of war with Hitler.
A "pathological narcissist"? I think there's a lot of pathology going on around here, but it doesn't have anything to do with President Obama.
I have the feeling that this country cannot sustain the capitalist system that has been in place--with modifications occasionally that the conservatives want to get rid of, like regulation--is doomed. It is based on consumption. How can we continue to consume valuable resources--many of which are already gone?--or buy it from others (which also have a limited life). Do you ever look at all the malls going up and wonder who buys that stuff? Especially as other malls close down? Who has the...
PEDER
you're getting politics and religion all confused again.
Interesting how "constitutional conservatives" think that a basic right should be voted on by the public. A right is a right whether you like it or not. It would not stand up to a court challenge (of course, this US Supreme Court may decide against the rights of individuals as they frequently have recently) based on strict Constitutional amendments.
It would be defeated--certainly eventually--so why spend that money? We could use it.
Freedom to marry is a basic right no matter...
I think that's why Dayton apparently won, too. Most Minnesotans are tired of bombast, paranoia, threats.
Sutton should grow up and handle defeat like an adult, like a professional politician.
Especially after reading these comments, I am convinced Minnesotans have no taste for a long, drawn-out battle using lawsuits and court challenges to hold things up.
Swift: name 1. Or 2. Enough to make costly changes that deny many--the elderly, the poor, the disabled, service personnel--the right to vote? I don't think so.
The greatest voting fraud ever was the 2000 Presidential election. Even the court at the time said the logic in that decision should not be used in other cases. Some of the Justices (esp. the retired ones) say it was bad law, and are ashamed of the decision.
You guys are just pounding away at the most vulnerable in our...
