The referred to pdf is the best economic summary I have ever seen. I hope millions read it!

The best sentence in the pdf article is:
"The public needs to be educated about the differences between wants, needs, affordability, and sustainability at both the individual and aggregate level."

Citizens who fail to understand the basic economic situation our country is in fail to see how predictably disastrous our future is. I hope you all will take the time to look at this...

Let us hope that Abba Eban is correct when he said: "History teaches us that men and nations behave wisely once they have exhausted all other alternatives." My hope is that our congress moves toward political compromise, which they have accomplished most of the time since 1787. They must use the brains of today, schooled by the accomplishments and mistakes of the past to reach that point. Hope and change have been that fuel for 224 years.

Posted on 09/07/11 at 02:56 pm in response to Erik Paulsen's usual 'Opie' charm doesn't play well at town hall meeting

Swift says: "Grow didn't even get the attendance right; there were 26 people there, not 50."

Isn't that interesting. Mr. Paulsen has a town hall meeting that he announces 2 days before it is to occur, the announcement being during a holiday week-end.

Could it be possible that he hopes few people will show up and even fewer will ask him questions??????

For those who are against gay marriage - You don't have to have a gay marriage, no one is suggesting that you should have one.

And Eric campaigned as the "math guy" A true mathematician would depict numbers on a graph honestly. A politician who wishes to deceive voters might act differently.

I have a house full of used treasures. I have engaged in this habit for over 50 years. I used to do auctions, then garage sales, and flea markets. Now I mostly favor church rummage sales. I never buy for resale, but because I keep buying, stuff has to go out the door, so I do e-bay, amazon, craig's list and freecycle to pass on what turns into surplus as new stuff comes in. The hobby ends up paying for itself and what other hobby does that? What I love about this, in addition to saving...

to the evidence that Faux Gnus (Fox news) lies:

From Media Matters:

"More recently, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade made the clearly false claim - twice - that "all terrorists" are Muslim. Following outrage over his remarks, Bill Shine, Fox News' senior vice president of looking the other way, said Kilmeade would "clarify" his comments and claimed that Kilmeade actually meant to say that "all terrorists" involved in the 9-11 attacks were Muslim. Of course, this...

Some good, thoughtful quotes on this subject:
The American flag stands for the fact that cloth can be very important. It is against the law to let the flag touch the ground or to leave the flag flying when the weather is bad. The flag has to be treated with respect. You can tell just how important this cloth is because when you compare it to people, it gets much better treatment. Nobody cares if a homeless person touches the ground. A homeless person can lie all over the ground all...

And what did Dayton's votes cost per voter? and Margaret's. Give us the whole story....
