Thank you for this article.

With wide stairs at every street crossing connect the skyways to the sidewalk. Problem solved. Make the transitions easy. Mimic our in and out mentality. Have two story storefronts. Embrace our uniqueness. Make sure that skyways are open 24x7x365. We can do this.

Cars should sense a barrier when shifted out of park and either warn or prevent movement.

Posted on 05/21/13 at 09:49 am in response to Both DFLers and Republicans will go home happy after session is over

All the points you mention as "GOP Issues" play ONLY to the GOP base which we know is shrinking. This "base" wouldn't vote DFL anyway.

As any small business owner will tell you, the emphasis on tax fairness, quality workforce and quality-of-life issues makes this session a plus for Minnesota.

For us, finally having a state government focused on positive change: educate our kids, protect all families, fair taxation, common-sense gun-safety has a been a welcome change from...

Posted on 01/05/13 at 08:42 pm in response to Bloggers track U’s ballooning administrative spending

Anyone who works at or lives with someone who works at the U has stories to tell of deanlets! Layers upon layers getting in the way. It's a testament to tenure, camaraderie, dedication and history that the U is as successful as it is. The "business model" of having layers of management is only offset by the fine faculty and equally fine staff and and students.

Nice read. I do take issue with this statement: "Very likely, a craft like this would also be coming in from overseas as well. Dublin, Frankfurt or Heathrow, for example, all of which have direct Delta flights"

Delta only has non-stop flights between MSP and Heathrow, AMS, CDG across the Atlantic. None to Dublin or Frankfurt. If there are "direct" flights, (i.e. a single flight number) to Dublin or Frankfurt they aren't non-stop and the plane you see is really coming from or going...

Posted on 11/08/12 at 12:29 pm in response to Election reaction roundup, Part 2

What this election showed is that supporting civil marriage is not a liability and will be even less so in the future. On the contrary, marriage equality will bring economic activity to this state, tourism and jobs. Further, all our kids protected by civil marriage is a plus that can't be discounted.

They need to work quickly to make this simple change, a change we proved is ok with the majority of voters (53% in this election---even more next time), a change that takes this issue...

Nothing says 100% like exceptions and waivers. I guess I'm 100% pro-life too...I make an exception for the will of the mother.

Amazing grasp and unlike that Swift guy or Birk...verifiable, authentic facts lead the way....

Posted on 08/31/12 at 12:34 pm in response to Romney’s RNC speech: workmanlike, but no masterpiece

Republicans have plainly stated they wanted the President to fail, and worked very hard through filibuster and their control of the House to make that happen. Their desire for control has thrown the rest of us under the bus.

It is a testament to President Obama that we've had steady job growth and a growing economy in the face of GOP's America-hating obstructionism not to mention a lackluster world economy.

His vision of an America where all people, not only the wealthy,...
