Newt's diatribe was well-scripted.
How old is Mr. Pyle? Has he reached the age where he is eligible for Social Security and Medicare?
Please note an error in the lead: Dave Pyle, who lead the Associated Press's Minnesota/Wisconsin bureau, will leave his position Jan. 31.
(The past tense of lead is led.)
In her "concession speech", Rep. Bachmann said she will "stand aside". Did she mean "step aside"? She said she is awaiting God's plan for her. Is He going to tell her to seek the Republican nomination to unseat Sen. Klobuchar? The "Iowa girl" will then have to claim that she's a Minnesotan true and true.
Maybe she'll pull a Pawlenty on Wednesday.
It'll be intereting to see what Rep. Bachmann does on Wednesday. She is the heavy favorite to finish last in the Iowa caucuses; and if she does come in sixth Tuesday night, it’s hard to imagine her staying in the race through the Jan. 10 New Hampshire primary.
Will she run for re-election in Minnesota? Her district is likely to be realigned because of the 2010 census, and she could be pitted against an incumbent DFLer.
It was interesting to read that Pawlenty's beverage of choice is "light beer". That fits him perfectly: light. For someone who is supposed to be so politcally astute, Pawlenty's decisions leave one in wonderment.
Something else that I think should be investigated are the stand-alone surgery centers owned by the doctors who send their patients there.
I agree with Curtis Griesels' comments about retailers calling their cusomters "guests". Referring to "guests" is one of the dumbest things stores have done, and when they have surveys asking for comments, I tell them so.
In regard to the queue system, I think it might work with modifications. For example, there could be a checkout lane for people with, say, 5 or fewer items.(Note the use of 5 or fewer rather than 5 for less.) There would have to be a monitor, though, to ensure that...
Three words that describe Bachmann:
delusions
of
grandeur
It would be interesting to know who the 22 are. My guess is that they are not poor people. They probably have used a lot of other loopholes to hold onto their wealth.
