Posted on 02/02/11 at 09:45 am in response to Target Center renovation: How to pay for it remains a mystery

We could continue our regressive tax system and save the rich from their burdens. Close a few parks, raise a few fees and add a few cents to the sales tax....or how about ...it is reported to vbe "good for business"...increase corporate taxes to pay for it!

Hey, I'm just kidding about taxing the "business" it is good for. How about a surtax on all property owners(statewide of course)...each parcel could pay an extra $18.00 and we'd have it done and have many new amenities for the...

Going back to the very progressive and many bracketed income tax of the 1950's would solve all our problems and leave plenty for occupying other countries.

Going back to previous levels of corporate income taxes would eliminate the need for sales taxes and make real estate tax much more tolerable.

Bad idea...it worked too well and too many people got an education!

They must have Karl Rove as their new slogan creationist.

Many of the so-called Honest Christians have put things in trust for their children and don't have anything the state can easily capture...not exactly my idea of honesty but, as many crooks say...hey, it's legal!

It is unfair to blame T-Paw for all of our state's woes. He had the help of the anti-tax, anti-choice ,and anti-government types....many of whom receive subsidy payments and various other "breaks" that enrich them.

Posted on 10/16/10 at 07:51 am in response to Keith Ellison bids to lead progressives in Congress

I am not in his district but, he is the best thing to happen to MN since Sen.John Marty. As I see it we have many great people willing to be in government service and while no one is perfect, these folks can't be faulted for much and deserve our gratitude and support.

Haven't seen people this good for MN since Sen.Don Moe retired!

Public service is such a meatgrinder, I am glad there are good people who will take the jobs!

Might be better to look to the future and manufacture light rail cars or wind and solar systems that will save electricity and reduce the reliance on carbon/coal etc.

Small scale solar and wind systems are the future and the market is only going to grow.

Turn the parking lots into community gardens and move the historical society to the "museum" site...get planning for the real world as the automobile culture prepares for death.

Or...donate the site to the Mayo Clinic if...

In this crazy world it must be OK to admit you promised corporate types you'd protect them so that you could get elected to solve a budget problem partly the result of cuts to the corporate income tax.

All taxes should be progressive!

Posted on 07/03/10 at 05:18 pm in response to State Sen. John Marty takes his health plan on the road

My opinion, we should try this and if the costs are less we stick with it, if not we go back to making insurance company executives millionaires.

We might even get federal money if we say we are the pilot program for real healthcare reform.

Posted on 06/30/10 at 07:50 am in response to Kelliher gets endorsement from GLBT group

MN needs a governor with a committment to PRINCIPLES and the DFL endorsed candidate,MARGARET ANDERSON KELLIHER is certainly the best DFL endorsed candidate for Governor in my lifetime!

If you support our platform and the principles...then VOTE in the primary for the endorsed candidate.
