Still Tax Chairman!....kiss any progressivity of the income tax good bye...
OH boy...we can count on more proposals for a regressive tax and even stronger defenses of the rich;"there's just not enough money there"...!

And that is my reason for supporting Keith Ellison, pragmatic and wise beyond his years!

Google..."history of federal income tax rates" and you will see that the last big bank problem of 1929 was solved with a very progressive income tax. We did well and then they bought off some politicians and we reduced taxes, deregulated, and let the bankers loose to do it all over again.

Surprise surprise! Her claims are unfounded and she continues to fight against sex education and birth control...I am shocked that she has made claims that are without factual merit.

If the claim is goofy enough you get more press coverage? Worked again!

I have known some bigots and they would be insulted! She may not be lying!

Wally has it close to accurate and that may imply too much of a connection with fact based reality. Better to apply the correct label; EXTREME PSYCHOTIC: total detachment from veriafiable reality. While she is not alone, she should be a "problem" for those who support the fleecing of the citizenry and the enrichment of themselves and their families through the deception of our corporatist "democracy".

This isn't just politics.

We should be strengthening teacher preparation and recognizing teachers as professionals. Suggesting we could get a better deal by making it easier to choose education if your other job goes south is close to the dumbest idea I've heard.

Want diversity? Support diversity by grants to diverse groups who will go to college and become prepared to enter the profession!

Could be that if you start out a child of the lower class and take advantage of a society that provides free public education K-12, almost free higher education, tax supported roads, parks and libraries. If when you and yours have accumulated a nice sized pot from government service or employment and a have a nice pension as a legislator or a judge ....AND....then become anti-tax and anti-government, well...HYPOCRISY DOES NOT SELL in the Tea Party.

A career as a lobbyist would be the...

That is precisely why we need a progressive income tax! Dayton didn't propose true progressivity!

Google the "history of federal income tax rates" and you will find that a truly PROGRESSIVE income tax would generate income and make the tendency to go after every last dollar of profit somewhat less attractive.

Profitable companies often leave the USA to go after that "last dime" because there is no incentive or disincentive...why stay in America when you can make more by moving...

When we all started to volunteer in politics we were all ignorant and name calling was never suggested as a tactic for use on volunteers!
