MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
What was the rest of the title of Al's book that started out with "Lies"? I'm sure you'll both know it.
"“What did she know, what did her campaign know, what did her counselors know, what did her political operatives know, when did they know it?” Bachmann said after the event. “We don’t have answers to any of those, we haven’t even scratched the surface, we haven’t even begun."
Actually, I think she just cut and pasted this from the Iowa Senate investigation.
James, you make one incorrect assumption. It's the principle that causes me to lean more Blue than Red. Since the time of Reagan, Labor has continually lost power to Corporate America. And it grows worse every year. The country prospers when there's an even balance. I have no problem trying to swing the pendulum in the other direcdtion.
What if the Daily Caller/American Experiment had disclosed how many children would be killed or maimed by the bill?
Sorry Logan, a public subsidy is a public subsidy. If you measure it by public interest, revenues generated or any other means, I'd guess the ratio of footbal fans to theater fans far exceeds the funding ratios you posted. Unless one of the major networks is now carrying Monday Night Thespians?
...in each instance the money goes to house a form of entertainment. Look, although I'm a Viking fan, I was never a proponent of public funding of the stadium. But attempting to differentiate between the two simply because you approve of one and not the other is foolish. And you don't need to wait to "see about the return". That data is already available (go to Forbes and look at the $$ generated by the Vikings and the NFL). You've got an argument you can't win.
don't be so hard on the Guthrie.
A column devoted exclusively to the architecture, followed by by 20 comments from people who can't separate the architecture nfrom the Practical Considerations. Hilarious!!
...complaining about the "foul-mouthed personal attacks against anyone who disagrees" wasn't referring to Davis & Emmer?
It's YOUR opinion that the issue has been beaten into the ground. My opinion is that when 70-90% of the citizens approve of background checks but our elected representatives won't even address that issue, the publicity needs to be louder and more frequent. If you don't like it, stop reading it.
Oh, and you can stop with the auto-related death comparisons. I'm not that bright, but it seems to me the primary purpose of a motor vehicle isn't to kill!
