If there's a problem, it's with the security guards, not the police.

If the police received a report of a problem, it's their duty to pursue it. Without audio, I can't tell what's transpiring but it seems fairly clear Lollie's being argumentative.

At this point, I don't have enough to make a judgment.

I haven't paid as much attention to this story as some, but maybe experts such as you can help clarify it for me. I have every reason to agree with you he was targeted by security personnel.

I don't know what the police were initially told. Did the police know where the "area" was? Did the police know whether it was public or private? Were they relying simply on what the reporting party told them? It seems to me the police were trying to interview him to figure out exactly what...

Seriously? Have any of these people heard of the phrase "personal accountability"?

I, for one, am grateful for any training these heroes do on my behalf. When I think back to all the things that went wrong with FDNY and police on 9/11, there is never such a thing as "enough" training.

I would agree that it would be reasonable to ask why advance notice wasn't given. But I'd also accept a reasonable explanation (such as the crowd of gawkers it would have attracted).

I'd like to ask the 3,000 plus people who died on 9/11 how they'd feel about communication problems in the Twin Towers, but I can't seem to get their opinions. See, you can't have it both ways. People like you are always the first to complain when an emergency response is insufficient.

1. Legislative approval for a Duluth casino? Well, now will find out who's bought and paid for. I'm guessing everyone.

2. The best part was Jerome Simpson's defense......"He refused to take the test, but if he had, he would have passed".

3. I'm sure Activist Al Flowers will be speaking out on this couple and their 11 kids. I'll be holding my breath.

It's funny how "progressives" love to frame issues in terms of "us" and "them" when the ultimate goal is to eliminate those distinctions. See, there ARE valid issues on the "they" side, whether it be Flower's poor parenting decisions or the rioting in Ferguson. That's completely separate from the police conduct in both cases. Not sure why we can't say that those responses to perceived police misconduct are inappropriate. Ignoring half the equation exacerbates the problem, but I guess it lets...

1. "Tell the truth ..."

2. "I heard someone accused the Hubbards of being behind that decision. We had nothing to do with it,"

Sometimes, the jokes just write themselves.

I guess I'd declare the declaration of "kicking butt" as accurate. I guess you can declare it a "half-truth" if anything short of a shut-out is your standard. I'd classify the newspaper's verdict of "half-truth" as an untruth.

OK, based on voting patterns, lets assume 50% of your potential customer base is offended by your tactics. Now let's assume some portion of the Sam's Club GOP also sides with the wait staff. I just hope the 1% eats out a lot or this could be a really stupisdecision on the part of the Oasis owners. Of course, that couldn't be because small business owners are a half rung higher than God to the GOP.
