So NOM wants black and Hispanic voters to be against gay marriage. But the GOP wants a photo ID requirement to disenfranchise these very voters. Oh, the drama.
Hayes Carll, "KMAG YOYO" is pretty awesome.
I wonder how Sen. Limmer would feel if a fellow Realtor, talking on the necessary phone while driving, slammed into a school bus carrying one of his kids?
The lipstick argument doesn't hold any weight. Of course, there are always going to be people doing foolish things while driving. That will happen as long as people drive cars.
But banning cell-phone use while driving can end a huge chunk of that foolishness and save lives. Just get it done. And thanks to Rep. Hornstein for...
MPR's site hits are probably up partly because they finally changed the URL from the ultra-confusing "mprnewsq" thing. How confusing that was!
Around 2003 I stopped drinking pop but changed none of my other habits. By 2007 I had lost 50 pounds, and I've kept it off despite still eating plenty of meat, butter and cream and drinking all the beer I want (within reason). I exercise regularly but moderately, and nothing more than biking and walking.
I'm not saying I'm a genius, but there's gotta be something to the taxing soda argument. It's not good for us, yet so many people drink it mindlessly.
Cage, if Mauer was batting .400 this team would still suck. Maybe they'd lose "only" 92-94 instead of 100. He could be batting .600 and it wouldn't matter - teams would just walk him to pitch to whatever .240-batting stiff followed.
Mauer went from being the baby Jesus to the devil in one year, according to Twins fans. Jeez. He hasn't lost the ability to hit, and if he gets healthy he'll be fine. Worth all that dough? Maybe not, but he'll still be a good player and potential batting...
John, you're definitely missing out not going to record stores in Minneapolis. It's a great record store town. In Minneapolis alone we have Electric Fetus, Roadrunner, Treehouse, Yeti, Hymie's, Shuga, and the co-op on 38th and Bloomington. Check 'em out. The Fetus, especially, is awesome simply for the knowledgeable staff and super-fair prices.
Thanks for including the point on the old morning show with Dale Connelly. Back then, I would look at the clock to see when it was over, then turn on The Current. Now, I don't have to.
Mostly, when I complain that I just heard Mumford and Sons weep for the gazillionth time, or only hear one cut repeatedly off a new album, I remind myself that The Current is still better than any other station, and in its absence I would not listen to any radio, period. It's still a great station with...
Great to have another columnist to read. Congrats to Chip.
