I have to agree with the previous poster. I have 35 years in the entertainment business both as a performing musician and also back side in the studio; and other places. There are already fees in place to compensate artists and have long been in place. This is yet another revenue stream from the recording industry which is still reeling from poor; slumping sales from crappy product they put out and lost their shirts on. This will kill it for anyone looking to get heard. There are much more...

Posted on 02/24/10 at 03:37 am in response to What has Michele Bachmann accomplished?

The only problem that I really see with Mrs Bachmann is that she is conservative. Her political persuasions are dictating her actions in office. Her actions; or apparent lack of, are really one side of a sword. She is a participating vote in many things; many things that the liberals and those who can't balance a checkbook just loath. I think she's doing fine, and looking at her record, and the language of the press that she is getting, I really can see very visibly; the bias that exists in...

Posted on 02/05/10 at 05:23 pm in response to DFLers ready to roll out bill limiting governor's unallotment powers

Just like in other venues; they'll pass this, stripping the governor of much of his power and give it to the legislature. Then something will come up later and the legislature will be stalemated in something and need the DFL governor to press something through for them, and they discover they can't because of the law they pushed through earlier. Then some lame brained dem will propose to have the language repealed.. and do it quickly so they can break this stalemate. Yup. They play by the...

Ok; here it comes. It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL for government to make a law requiring you to purchase health care, or be subject to imprisonment.

Sorry; Nice try. This is so liberal left it isn't funny.

Mr Franken also still doesn't get it, and probably never will. He is right there left leaning along with Pelosi and Reid. They are not concerned with what the voters have to say or think. This is their government now; not yours so butt out.

Posted on 01/29/10 at 05:36 pm in response to Obama before Congress: rhetorical skills, but still polarized

Wow... based on some of the discussions in here, you'd think that people are about to start pointing fingers again; north versus south.

Mr Obama's speech was once again riddled with contradictions, accusational confrontation, and just plain polarizing tone. I like the tag on this story; still polarized. No kidding. This is the see-saw with a brick thrown on the one side. It ain't moving!!

Posted on 01/28/10 at 06:50 am in response to Bachmann may skip National Tea Party Convention

I think there is something about her stepping in on someone else while she holds office is what this was about. I would have liked to have seen her participate, but it's not a show stopper if she doesn't appear.

Posted on 01/28/10 at 06:48 am in response to Obama's big challenge tonight: Uniting Democrats

Notice that this is about uniting "democrats"! Nothing at all about bringing everyone together in all this. Its strictly about uniting democrats. It's back to business as usual--taking the government away from the people. We appear to have too many that believe the democrats should just huddle up and be ready to tackle anyone who is in their way of their agendas. It does not involve Independents or Republicans. It's all about democrats. This is the divide in this country. Very obvious that...

Posted on 01/29/10 at 05:41 pm in response to Minnesotan arrested in alleged wiretapping of U.S. senator

Actually; anything in Citypages is so left leaning; I'm surprised they didn't start up in a lot of name calling and foul language. They're pretty left over there.

Posted on 01/26/10 at 05:53 pm in response to Two DFL challengers to Michele Bachmann report contributions for 2009

I have a feeling that even with what went on in MA, people here in MN are watching and democrat or independent; you better be playing it right or the same fate might happen here. We have nowhere near the liberal populous that exists on the east and west coasts and I suspect folks are a bit more centered. It will indeed be an interesting race.
