Tony Sutton already got Mark Dayton elected by giving the votes from Emmer on this very issue to Horner. One might wonder if the Indian casinos did not get Horner to run knowing he would take votes away from Emmer with his support of a Racino. Follow the money. The other benefit of a Canterbury rather than a Bloomington casino, while unaddmitted by Mystic Lake, is that if a State casino is built in Bloomington it would hurt both Canterbury and Mystic Lake. Few people from the core metro area will drive over the river when Bloomington is in there backyard.
The joke is that the Minnesota horseracing industry is on the rocks and they pay taxes!!!. If you believe that not giveing the industry the same benefits as states such as Iowa, which now advertises to our business's to move to Iowa, then go for it. The no cost of this boom to Minnesota's econonmy is a no brainer. The spin offs to the economy are endless.
