I don't know if it has even dawned on anybody in Minnesota's Republican party what damage Mr. Sutton is doing to the party's image. His ludicrous braggadocio and endless threats of lawsuits are getting tiresome, really. To anyone listening to him, he sounds like someone who has little faith in the system to begin with. Could it be that deep down he knows he has a weak case to begin with?

Hats off to a valiant, conscientious, and dedicated public servant. Bravo, Mr. Stein!

I suppose we have to give thanks for small favors, although they are not really small. Passing a stronger Food Safety Bill in a Congress that is more or less dominated by Republicans is no small feat.

In other news, however .... 1)Unemployment benefits are expiring this month, and very well may not be renewed.... 2) "It looks as if tax cuts for the rich may stay!"

And so to put a positive spin to everything ...
We can feel safer about the food we buy off store shelves...

I would like to predict that this whole "WikiLeaker" stuff will blow over real soon, and be wiped off the front pages in a very short time.

The "Free" World is doing a superb PR work now, everybody is calm and collected. It is not as if the world is now on the brink of Third World War anyway. Yes, a few individuals may face personal (political) embarrassments. But they will survive.

Two simple words to describe Mr. Huckabee: erratic and unpredictable.

A third possible personal trait: dangerous.

Challenging a challenge?

Wow! If I may borrow a favorite phrase of BD Mcginnis', a regular commenter here on MinnPost, "This is rich!"

And I'll say to anybody here, I dare you challenge this here dare to all of youse!

Now, the question is ...Is Tom Emmer planning on packing a bag to attend a similar meeting of Republican Governors anytime soon? Oops, I forgot we still have a republican at the governor's mansion, and he is sort of ready to travel anyways.

"Almost every single person on the Minnesota Majority's list of 1,000 could vote legally, and the total amount of voter fraud discovered equaled just 0.00089 percent of votes cast in 2008."

I think that people with their names on the list should be notified by someone (maybe the State Attorney) so that they could take legal action against Minnesota Majority.

It is outrageous that people (anybody) can be investigated frivolously...

@#1 - " ... Republicans aren't real big on 'data'. "

But they were not too unhappy with "Hanging Chad" issues ten years ago ... "Chad" not
the name of a person or the country, btw.

I'm glad we are not Florida. Did they ever correct that mess from ever happening again down there?

Thanks, Susan, for this article.

It is perfectly-timed as we will soon be bombarded by the publications or announcements of findings by research groups and foundations of one field or another. Yes, indeed, between now and almost February, we can expect revelations of new miracle cures, or reinstatement of debunked old ones.

Today, I read in the WSJ (*) that bio-medical researchers have made significant progress in their work on an anti-aging enzyme (a kind of a "fountain of...
