Anybody notice the color of the tie each gentleman is wearing?
Coincidence or was it all choreographed? :)
@#1 - Brian says, "Sen Franken, a holding penalty was called on that 2nd down punt. What play are you calling?"
----------------------------------------------
That would not be a football play he would be calling. It would be a play from the theater of the absurd, something you might get from like say, Moliere, maybe. But instead, you've got Al Franken, and that's good enough for these days.
Al Franken knows comedy; and comedy is stark naked truth told with a grin, I...
@#5 -"Then a real effort could be mounted to continue benefits for the unemployed ...."
"This agenda would require much stronger leadership and a far greater use of the presidential bully pulpit than Obama shown me."
-------------------------------------------
Well said, Neal. I couldn't agree more.
One area that has not even been considered is: The economy as a national security matter.
A national state of emergency should have been declared for the "...
What I don't understand is ... they've bailed out banks, insurance companies, Wall Street grifters, and automobile manufacturers ... all the while justifying their actions with the "direness" of the economy. What has all that stimuli done so far? We're still at high unemployment, we're in fact in a recession.
Not surprisingly, Republicans use the expiration of unemployment benefits as leverage for possibly making Bush-era tax cuts permanent. And the Democrats don't seem to realize...
"I have no doubt that everyone will be able to find something in this compromise that they don’t like," Obama acknowledges, ...
-----------------------------------------
Alright then, so why do this "compromise."
The illogic of his logic is simply astounding.
There's only one word for this president: pathetic.
So, Mr. Bernanke is saying that we are right now at the edge of an economic abyss, that of recession. And, of-course, he wants to increase the money supply and pump up the economy. (Monetary policy)
On the flip side, the President is saying that we are clawing out of a recession now and we need a "strong" stimuli, such as tax breaks. (Fiscal policy)
Any first-year economics student will tell you the total scenario is a guaranteed recipe for a raging inflation. We get gasoline...
@#10 Mr. Swift, " ...frustrated lefty's running around with their empty loot bags on their heads, ..."
--------------------------------------
An overwhelmingly generous comment there.
But I think that their bags are empty because the greedies on the right done emptied everything out. Nothing under the tree, bah humbug! What!
@# 9 ..."."covetous lefties" ...
-----------------------------------------
Neal:
More of the insensitive, callous, and mindless remarks are popping up everywhere.
Over at MinnClips section, the one about Sen. Franken's speech in Congress elicited a gem of a comment from Eric Myers ... about how "The GOP is teaching the man to fish (utilizing Fiscal Policy help spur job creation)."
Is giving the un-needy permanent tax breaks an advanced course in fish-...
@#2 - Mr. Swift:
Please don't say or think those thoughts, lest they come true and cause you much more serious chagrin.
Happy and contented people like you should continue thinking happy thoughts.
The big IRONY here is that ...
No matter how Obama fattens them, the ungrateful and greedy Republicans will continue calling him a "socialist."
