@#1 - "As a one-time Party officer, there were times when my fellow Republicans endorsed candidates that I wasn’t happy with. Nonetheless, it was my duty to phone bank, fund raise, maintain and provide voter lists and door knock for these candidates. I did it because it would have been wrong for me to substitute my judgment for the judgment of the local Party faithful."

@#5 - "The story lacked an explanation of what CREW is and why anyone should care what CREW says."

The underlined first line of the article is also a link to the website of CREW. If you double click on it, it will take you there.

As for why you should or you shouldn't care, that is an entirely a matter of choice, perhaps.

A wrong is a wrong.

Thieves and liars can be found on both the left and the right. And then there are the dangerous demagogues, and zealots who are even scarier and more insidious than the thieves and liars.

But, in the final analysis, our concern is with the net effect of a wrong. All politicians lie, including the saintly Ms. Bachmann. Lying is a requirement of the job; and lying is a form of stealing. It is the stealing of trust and confidence we have in someone to speak...

@#2- "The GOP is teaching the man to fish ..."
---------------------------------------------

I wonder if you realize that making tax breaks permanent for the un-needy and super-rich is tantamount to feeding them fish forever also.

Oh I beg your pardon, you said, "...the man." I was thinking of that saying about the poor and needy man whom we refer to as "a man."

[They have eyes, yet they do not see!]
[They have ears, yet they do not hear!]
[They have hearts, yet they do not feel!]

You have addressed what needs to be addressed.

Thank you, Senator Franken!

Two things ...

1.- Is this ban kind of a younger brother of an "Enemies' List?" Ghost of RMN hovers here.

2. - Are we going to be hearing of more purges from the Minnesota Republican Party? Are they "Suttonly" coming to their senses?! :)

Suttonly, he does not want to play any more. Has he lost his marbles?

Well, Jay, there's an "anonymous" saying that goes: When all is said and done, there's more said than done.

Naturally, this whole "recount" thing is very unpleasant; and anybody could have predicted it as (to use another cliched phrase,) an exercise in futility.

But, a consolation .... The Emmer recount team can hope to be guests of "Count Count" on Sesame Street!

Posted on 12/03/10 at 12:53 pm in response to CBS poll: Most oppose Republican tax cut plan

One has to agree that any polls about anything right now is going to land on deaf ears, especially as the elections are behind us. But, the results of this particular poll is distasteful and would never be acceptable to the Republicans anyway.

The GOP is emboldened to pursue its goal of forever catering to the super-rich. And now, the strategy is to shamelessly put the brakes on the extension of unemployment benefits until and unless tax cuts are made perversely permanent for the tiny...
