MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
St. Paul has always been the comfortable city compared to the pretentiousness of Minneapolis, but my east side bias is showing.
They have had some false starts but in generally they work things out. The only real failure I have seen is the business communities failure to support the James J. Hill Reference Library. For that they get a black eye.
that the author was pointing out.
Interestingly the Tribes have been here for thousands of years. The tribes that are left have survived pretty much everything that has come their way and they are probably going to be here for thousands more as reasonably intact subcultures. It's way past time to try to cheat them.
My mom is 90 an avid news paper reader whose ability to see the news paper has strongly diminished.
I love reading the paper but it is much easier to read on line than in print.
A large print version might help.

It is a pity the trades don't refuse to work on Orchestra Hall to support the players.
That said I never go to hear the orchestra. I've been their twice and I have hated the facility both times. It's a pity they don't play in other venues. I think I would prefer Northrup or even the football stadium to Orchestra Hall.
I found the seats uncomfortable and the internal traffic flow bad. It felt claustrophobic. It is difficult to enjoy the music when you are physically uncomfortable.
However, according to my brother-in-law and his wife who were connected with the orchestra many before they moved to NY, I might add that it may be the violins. There are several songs that put me on edge and literally make me leave the room. Based on those songs they deduced that I don't like the "soprano voice"...
When cities, or agencies do satisfaction surveys it is useful to compare the data received with other similar cities or agencies.
For example: One of the environmental agencies received a satisfaction score of 86% from the people it dealt with and was congratulating itself on a job well done. As it turns out three other agencies that did environmental services also had polled their constituencies at about the same time. They received ratings of 96%, 92% and 88%. Given similar...
While this is a good strategy, what she has introduced (thank you for putting that in the article) still speaks louder than her PR strategy.
Jim Graves was an excellent candidate and just basically the kind of good sensible - involved in the community - smart but compassionate business - guy we want to think of as the kind of person that would grow up here in Minnesota. I hope he runs again. He would have my vote.
He probably even knows you can't be a Swiss citizen and...
On this magic bullet everyone can agree.
"To counteract this trend, we must be willing to strategically invest in targeted job-creation initiatives and re-entry programs that will create a positive return on our investment and put young black men to work."
But the devil is in the details. If those 40,000 jobs are in something that requires advanced education then there is a miss match.
Perhaps a targeted program through the colleges a work education program that...
Taking an article about Black men and blaming Black women.
The last time I checked it took two people to produce a child and both have birth control options available.
Perhaps you want to read the article again. Birth control for men and women is a different article.
