MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
It occurs to me that this is a decoy stealth amendment to prevent people that lose their spouse, by any one of several reasons, from re-marrying. It successfully completes the effort of the Catholic Church to stanch the divorce rate by punishing anyone that strays from its teachings . . . whether or not he/she is a follower of that, or any other religion, that shuns multiple marriages. It's in the MN Constitution.
Married to someone that beats the hell out of you every Saturday night...
I'm a guy that enjoys watching the Legislature in both houses debate issues via PBS. I don't spend an inordinate amount of time watching, but a couple of hours a day several days a week would, probably, get me qualified for "legislative junkie" status.
I don't recall ever seeing Mr. Bills making a comment on any issue during the recent debates, bill hearings, or discussions in the 2012 Legislative Session. I disagree with Mr. Droogsma that Bills giving an interview to Mr. Black would...
It's becoming more evident every day that the MNRP exists as a major player in a scenario reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.
Like the Great and Wonderful Wizard behind the curtain, Ms. Kiffmeyer's spokesman is obligated to continue the myth of voter fraud, and this Constitutional Amendment will bring new and wonderful things if we avoid fraud at all costs. There is obviously no concern for the greatest loss, for which many an American life has been sacrificed, the secret ballot.

I've seen that sign around town, which makes me wonder how many are coming and how many are leaving. If this was a commercial venture trying to get back into the market, it would suffer the same fate as New Coca Cola some years ago. The product being offered by the Catholic Church is beginning to take on the aura of Coor's Light.
The silent majority certainly are vocal about the issue and the tactics being used by the church. The church hierarchy's threats to muzzle those among them...
One thing you can rely on as chacteristics of the MN Rs, they wear blinders to the issues that are driving them off the cliff and they can continue to march in lockstep. Inside the party they call it discipline. ROFLMAO.
The Minnesota Republicans are slowly, but surely, creating the proverbial circular firing squad with all their purity tests.
I recall some years ago when the local party leader was recruiting people to run for the legislature. At the time I was the County Vice Chair. The experience was enough for me to tell the party sayonara by publicly endorsing a candidate from another party.

Queen Michelle and her loonies are so far removed from reality it boggles the mind. To know that we, the taxpayers, paid her $174,000 plus expenses for 2011-2012 while she was doing the political zip-a-dee-do-dah around the country is one very good reason to unelect her in November 2012. Enough already!!!!
Hey, if you are going to sucker punch somebody, why do it to an adversary that is your size. Picking on a littler guy assures you of . . . wait for it . . . the upper hand.
