re:"...abstinence works as well as anything else."
No, it doesn't.
Comprehensive sex education programs show statistically significant reductions in pregnancy and intercourse rates, while abstinence-only and "no" sex education are tied in their achievement of higher intercourse and pregnancy rates. This is well established:

I'm sure that if Obama declined the award, Swiftee and his ilk would quickly turn around to draw similarites between Obama the only awardee who ever refused the prize:

A North Vietnamese communist. These folks are so predictable.
"They've turned the Nobel into a joke..."
Using right wing standards, the Nobel Peace Prize has always been a joke. The cynicism, hate and fear that are embraced in right wing philosophy leave no room for an award based on optimism or idealism.
Here is a link to an excellent article by a former chair of the Nobel committee that explains the philosophy of the award process. Obama's winning of this year's prize is entirely consistent with the philosphy of hope and the promotion...
Q: What is "Pffft."?
A: The sum total of the right's ability to react to this award (And also, the sound of Swiftee's head exploding).
Most of the folks who hate Obama draw the conclusions they require first, and then they look for some sort of evidence to support those conclusions.
This is why we are seeing the fascinating phenomenon of prominent GOP figures insulting and denigrating both the Nobel prize committee and the Prize itself: Since the fact of the prize does...

This is why you have no credibility, sir. The hoary right wing wives' tale that the NYT is somehow "in bed" with "liberals" or "democrats" is quite provably untrue.
The Times pushed Judith Miller's fantasies about Saddam relentlessly in the runup to our "Oops" war with Iraq; this in spite of many, many people contacting them on a daily basis to beg them to fact check her lies. They never did...
Mr. Johnson,
Can you please establish for us exactly when you stopped beating your wife? Don't hide behind the excuse that there is "no evidence whatsoever".
"Wouldn't it be kind of cool" if some reporter wrote a story on what a great relationship you have with your marriage? But since nothing like that has been written, there is obviously some sort of biased coverup, or perhaps a genuine journalistic conspiracy to hide the sordid truth from the public.
If you happen to...
Bachmann is apparently unable to distinguish between health clinics in schools and "abortion" clinics.
The legislation that she is lying about also states quite clearly that any clinics funded by the bill would be required to comply with all applicable state and federal laws. Here is Minnesota's statute regarding abortion services provided to minors:

Apparently the reasoning of the right goes something like this:
Some individual public schools make birth control indirectly available to their students, which is approved on a school-by-school basis by the parents of the students; therefore, Acorn stole the election for Franken.
It all makes sense now.
The effect of this "bill of rights" will be a significant increase in cancelled flights due to possible delays. The vast majority of this type of delay is due to air traffic saturation, which the airlines have no liability for.
If you travel much by air, you can expect to periodically be left in the terminal with no hotel, no food, and no flight due to this legislation, when previously you would have been late, but at least gotten to your destination.
Prior to Obama's address to Congress, Georgia's Senator Saxby Chambliss warned that he "better show some humility" when he came to speak.
What a curious thing to demand of a President. Nope, no racism here. Everyone just move alonng, now.
