Social security is collected by that department. It is then robbed by congress to the general fund. It has not made a difference Democrat or Republican they did it. In the 80s retired people took more out of social security than they put in within 5 years. The idiots in DC, and it was all of them, did not want to change it. Along with the rest of the their deficits. I remember MN Sen Bos said they had fixed it for another 10 years in like 1988. It is a lie the general fund has issued...

So lets send more money to the State. They are either the largest or second largest employer in the state. Every dollar you send maybe you benefit by .50.

Education - already at the one of highest per pupil rates in the nation and it needs more?? You have two second grade teachers right next to each other the 60 year old making $80,000 and the 25 year old $29,000. Eduction's quality is 90% up to the parents, even my teaching friends agree with that. This idea more money makes it...

More money means better education. When will the Mayors stop. If the whine of the two cities were used to find answers for the local support of the kids that is the only place the environment will improve. 90% or more of how good the education is = the parents, the home and their immediate community. When does the crying for more money stop. It has become a professional whine for the need for money from some other source federal and state. Let's stop the process of sending dollars to...

If we are doing so well in population compared to others why are we looking at the potential loss of a congressional seat. There is no doubt there is a newer population basis for the two largest cities, so we had to sustain a loss someplace else. Tax revenues will be a struggle wealth tis transferring out of state.

20 years ago the arguement was businees is not moving??? Cargill, 3-M, Target based here, but have grown a great deal more. Ask them why they open new in other areas,...

Would you please have an article on how many state representatives and senators have a job outside of their duties in St. Paul. I think in the 1990s there was an article about this saying that in the 1970s like 70% had other jobs and in the 1990s 20%. If it is not a part time job we should look at what changes need to be made. Why do we think we need as many elected officials as they did in the old days when people had to take day(s) to get to St. Paul from International...
