MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Why did MnDOT install such a poor system in the first place?
Thanks to Minneapolis PW and CM Roy for getting this fixed.
"The move comes after the Legislature cut a tax break the company received for conducting sustainable forestry and allowing public access from more than $2 million to $100,000.”
So, according to the (Republican-controlled) Legislature, tax breaks are good... unless they might actually benefit the people or environment.
I thought all we had to do to improve these public schools was continue cutting their budgets!
Snark aside, this is one of the most uplifting things I have read in quite some time.
A round of applause for our public schools!
C'mon, even Forbes realizes we the people are getting screwed.
‘As far as I am concerned, if we can block a whole bunch of spending in a bonding bill and get the photo ID bill done, that's enough,’ said Sen. Dave Thompson, R-Lakeville, who faces his first re-election.”
Require that the Vikings open up their books if they are to receive any public money. If they want to make a case for why public money is necessary, I think they need to explain exactly how their profits (or lack thereof) fit into the equation. BTW, I am a Vikings fan, just not a corporate charity fan.
My point exactly.
those that vehemently oppose the individual mandate yet do not offer an alternative. Under the current system, those who are insured bear the cost of care for those who are not insured. To remedy this, I see two options: Require everyone to pay in to the system (which the individual mandate does), or, revoke emergency health care for those who don't have insurance and can't pay upfront. Haven't heard many Republicans suggesting the latter, at least not publicly.
Mr. Krasnoff,
Perhaps I misunderstand, but it seems as if you are almost eager to take a life. It seems to me that that is just the type of attitude that made the shoot first legislation a bad idea. Taking another human's life should a last resort, not the first option for those too eager to pull the trigger.
I may actually agree with Sooch. Oh no, I think I'm going to be ill...
