MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
In what is the libertarian philosophy incoherent? It's pretty simple - maximize individual freedom.
How is spending less money more loony than spending massively more than you bring in with no plan to balance the budget?
As far as I'm concerned, 500+ of the looniest most cowardly people in the world are in Washington DC.
Dean sounds like a world class jackass, but I don't see how his objection to funding the arts is any different from Democrats' objections to funding the sports stadium.
I'm wholeheartedly against funding either activity, but if the People have directly voted for the Legacy amendment, Dean's antics are actually directed at the people of Minnesota.
I don't take the paper, but I think this is a neat idea. As is your idea of "narrow casting." Make the paper a little bit more like Comcast - where If I don't want something, don't make me pay for it.
Hear that ESPN? We're comin' for ya!
Hopefully this year will not prove anomalous and increased temperatures will not necessarily mean increased storms.
sounds cool, but what does it mean to be restored? What were the streams like before and after?
I'm with Phil on this one. I'm not seeing it.
Audra,
Why would you write about something that you care for so little? Seems to me that when it comes to books the interface is the least important thing about them. I love reading my paper books, but I also enjoy books on my Sony PRS-505 ebook reader.
Unfortunately "Extending unemployment benefits and health benefits for laid-off workers." will not bring back jobs. It will make not having a job suck less, but it will actually increase unemployment. People not getting unemployment benefits are more likely to go out and get another job. The problem is that they are more likely to get a crappier job.
Agenter's obviously out of line. He must have known the conditions coming in to the situation. If not, he should have done more research.
On the other hand I have to shake my head at Ringsred. Where does he live? Maybe the construction of his residence marred the aesthetics of Duluth.
Things change. Life isn't fair.
