This is a very old and tired argument dating back long before there was Legacy funding to squabble over. I'm an avid user of both city/metro and state parks, live in Minneapolis, and think that my city's and the metro coalition's arguments are self-serving (so are the small rural parks arguments, but that's another story).

They can't claim it before they buy a home. But the interest amount, even for smaller home mortgages, surely is what kicks most people at the margin over the threshhold so that they can start itemizing, especially when coupled with the property tax deduction.
You should look into getting an RSS feed set up for these View Finder stories. Others could grab the feed for display in their RSS readers, or even grab the feed for display on other sites, blogs, etc.
