How about we start a petition to get him to resign. He wakes up every morning and tries to figure new and horrible ways to get his name in the paper. He is the Bishops version of Kim Kardashian, without the looks.

It is not a prefatory clause, it is dependent clause. Commas are often used to separate clauses. In English, a comma is generally used to separate a dependent clause from the independent clause if the dependent clause comes first: such as: A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The independent clause therefore stands alone as a sentence. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall...

Don't you think that the sainted founding fathers would have made a sentence.that only said,
"The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed", if that is what they intended? That is exactly what they said, if you have any understanding of the English language, there is no argument here. A half a sentence isn't being ignored. They made it quite clear, they felt; A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, that is not a sentence it a dependent...

When they are through with this campaign, they can then start to lobby for blacks to use the back of bus and use separate bathrooms. These are folks who would vote for Governor Wallace and join the KKK. They actually believe that the bible is accurate and the pope is infallible.

Todd: You have it exactly right. I wish I would have said what you did. I have no idea how two people of the same sex getting married is going to affect my marriage, my sons marriage, or anybody the I know marriage. Half the people that I know who are opposed to gay marriage don't even know anybody who is gay. So how is any gay person going to affect them no matter what they do?

The Vikings stadium deal shows the stupidity of Minnesotans. While lots of cities make millions off of there stadiums, Minnesotans do things on the cheap and everybody pays for it out of pocket. I think before any politician in MN can assume office they to pass the test: Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader.

Posted on 04/10/13 at 05:21 am in response to GOP hopes Keith Downey will stabilize shaky state party

I don't know much about politics, but I do know about running a business. If any business was run the way the GOP wants to run the government, that business wouldn't exist after a short period of time. If any business gets in trouble financially, it has to do two things, tighten its belt and increase revenue. A good business model is one that has a rolling budget and is flexible enough to do what is necessary to increase revenues and cut costs. Cost cutting in business can mean everything...

"The Senate has maintained that Brodkorb was an at-will employee who could be fired without cause." There is caveat to that statement and that is the termination, or firing has to be legal. In other words if an employer lays off, or fires an employee the termination cannot violate any state or federal law. Some of those laws for example would the ADA, Title 7, and many other EEO rules and regulations. That having been said, an employer cannot just fire somebody without cause unless they are...

The one element in this that everyone is overlooking is that Brodkorb filed for unemployment and the Senate opposed it. In order for a terminated employee to not receive employment is if was terminated for cause. Since the senate opposed his unemployment they must have had reason for doing so and it had to be one of the reasons set down in the Federal unemployment law. If an employee is let go without cause, that is, laid off either temporarily or permanently they are automatically eligible...
