Thomas Jefferson was anything but a Federalist. They were trying to bring a monarchy back into the United States. Thomas Jefferson believed in Republicanism.

Socialism? We've tried it to the tune of 16 trillion dollars in debt and rising. It will bankrupt us.
Capitalism? Requires constant growth. Not going to happen as we continue to run out of stuff.
Communism? Complete control of the masses just to sustain life itself.
Where we're headed.

I completely agree that what is going away in our society is critical thinking. Proficiency and success requires attention to detail and practice. Calculators and computers diminish the need for the details or practice. The basic rules of math are best learned from scratch paper and trial and error. I believe we are getting used to instant answers without depth of knowledge which gives us no self gratification. A lack of gratification and self accomplishment can leave one very unhappy. Math...

The durable rigidity of our two party system comes from lobbying. They only allow the voter the choice of the lesser of two evils. It is not embarrassing, but shameful on the checkbooks behind the lobbyists.
Neither of the two parties can trace their roots to the founding fathers. They have traded positions influenced by money.
The two party system we have is controlled by the checkbooks not wanting to add a third party to their payroll for influence.

Just ask, does the government today have the constitutional authority to do what it is doing?
No.
Far too many look to the government for entitlements which is putting us in an all against all gridlock.
Doom ensues.

We'll lose this democracy over debt spent on things the government should not be involved in.

The constitution is clearly meant for change as the people see fit. The means of doing so is by amendment. A whole lot of amendments never made it to the vote, but the government is doing it anyway.

How about the simple fact that freedom requires personal responsibility. A little known fact these days.

Do you know what it takes to get social security benefits/medicare/a doctors visit/pay taxes/pay bills/etc.? I.D.

Again, freedom requires personal responsibility. I have called no one irresponsible, yet it may be argued.
As to voter impersonation, there is also no evidence of voter suppression with voter ID along with provisional balloting.
It's not funny that a little critical thinking instead of elementary thinking would keep many wrong things from happening.
