In the case of the final version of this story regarding the "economic" side of restaurants, there is a benefit to knowing that a contract was canceled for cause. The benefit is to raise a red flag to those future investors with the parties involved. Most importantly though, it is also to signal any future employees that their wages and/or employment might be jeopardy.
