I can just imagine how Exxon, et al, have just decided to pour money into MB's coffers after that announcement, "oiling" the gears for her Bachmann for Prez campaign. (sorry 'bout the pun, but couldn't resist!)

A "turkey" sandwich? Is this some kind of political comment? That area IS heavily Republcian...hmmm.

#14, In saying "our lives," you mean, of course, the lives of the middle to lower income folks. Those in that group will be far poorer, but then we/they are not the people who have vast wealth to donate to the party of our choice: the Democratic party, needless to say! The "You-Know-Who's" know that THEIR lives will be better, as we could plainly see at the end of the eight years of Bush's "Steal from the poor and give to the rich" program.

I agreed with those posters who advocated Michele because she's "unelectable" until I read Danie's wise observation. The power of the likes of Fox News has a way of warping people's minds; how else did we get stuck with some of the incredibly "wrong" people running Minnesota and the country over the years.

Thanks for the list of MN sci-fi writers,Max; your article is a gift to Minnesotans.

I'd read Simak many years ago and am glad to be reminded of the pleasure of his company, though I missed out on "City." Thanks for the recommendation!

"Polls show Bachmann support slipping"--brings to mind the lovely song "Getting to Know You." But far from "getting to like you" as the song says, we are getting to, er, NOT like you, Ms. B, the more we see and hear you.

On the other hand, as a good Dem (is there any other kind?!) I wouldn't mind seeing Bachmann on the Repub ticket in either prez or vice position. Again, I'm relying on everyone who is a thinking person "getting to know" her.

John, IF ONLY! Maybe I'm too cynical, but there's a reason that ads interrupt our TV and radio programs and fill newspapers and magazines with the sell, sell, sell messages. They work! And you used the magic word--"profit"! Unilateral disarmement has never worked in the war of ideas as far as I know.

Posted on 08/18/11 at 11:40 am in response to I witnessed a dark side of Michele Bachmann's character

Michele's "dark side" is a manifestation of the Reconstructionist philosophy that governs her actions. All who oppose this philosophy are apostates and deserve Old Testament punishments.
This article exposes a side of her that reveals her true motivation and is a valuable public service.

I think this country has been Texa-ified enough after W's tenure. Please, no more trickle down, dumb-down, wages-down leaders for the USA.

Repubs love and venerate the flag, yet hate the government whenever the Dems run the show. Guess no one else "deserves" to be president unless he's a right-winger. Sad.
