MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Brian, I see your point; the proper sequence is to allow gay marriage first and then prevent Voter ID. This stupidity is propagated on both sides of the aisle, as a journalist don't let yourself get caught on one side or the other.
doc-tri-naire: seeking to impose a doctrine in all circumstances without regard to practical considerations?
I suppose this is only a good/bad thing depending on which side of the impractical argument you stand on.
I agree with you Steve. But I think it is fear disguised as hubris. When the status quo no longer works, you have to expect or at least hope that changes will be made.
Interesting that the one candidate everyone pegs as a wacko with mindless acolytes is the one who is willing to sacrifice personal ambition for a cause.
Oh wait, in todays political climate, not being greedy self serving, and a megalomaniac IS wacko. I stand corrected.
Oh by the way Matt the reason the Ron Paul supporters are derided is hundreds of millions of dollars in super PAC money. It is easier to marginalized someone than engage them
I would be truly curious to see a journalist, interview any of the sitting representatives or senators with a list of their previous campaign promises. I would like to see this put against their voting record and against their effectiveness in meeting those promises. And be tough on all of them, why wouldn't you be. Let's hold those who have already gained our trust accountable first. I realize this requires more work as a journalist, but it should, after all, be part of the job.
