I don't need a church to get married now. I can go down to the courthouse with my intended, fill out the paperwork, wait the appropriate time, and have a justice of the peace read off some text and sign the license and voila! I'm married! No religion had anything to do with it.
And that's a full-out "marriage" - not a civil union. All the rights and responsibilities etc. etc. Government-bestowed benefits, and the church had nothing to do with it.
Which leads me towards...
Without the indent it's not clear which comment they're responding to. But I read Dennis' comment as being in response to Ken's.
Hopefully he'll chime in and clarify.
I know! Make them play e-pulltabs and if they win they get to eat!

Brian, it's pretty clear you don't like dogs, but some of us do. And hearing about yet another dog who died because of irresponsible ownership is always upsetting.
And guess what? "Irresponsible ownership" also includes owners who carry their "purse dogs" all time, thus creating a dog who is given no opportunity to learn how to interact safely in social settings. When those dogs bite (and they do), they also frequently end up getting killed. And "dead" for them is just as dead as...
Why does that not surprise me?
People who receive email notices of such listening sessions could post the details here?
They interviewed him after the New Prague lockdown yesterday. For those who may not have followed the story, a 911 call was made saying someone with an AK47 had wounded 2 people in the school, the school went into a "Code Red" lockdown and all local law enforcement arrived at the scene to respond. It developed that the 911 call was made as a hoax by a 12 year old who is currently in custody.
Anyway, Rep. Cornish was commenting on the dangers inherent in such a false alarm, and one...
