Posted on 03/13/12 at 02:11 pm in response to Eating red meat associated with higher risk of death

The article says, "The researchers estimated that the deaths of 9.3 percent of the men and 7.6 percent of the women in the study could have been prevented if everybody had cut back their meat consumption to less than one-half serving (about the equivalent of one hot dog) each day."

Really, we can now prevent death? On the whole, an interesting idea (eat less fatty meat) is run into the ground by a useless "study" and a poorly written article.

Please get more details on the Minneapolis contribution. Where is it coming from? Does this bypass Council and/or a referendum?

Posted on 02/22/12 at 09:45 am in response to Bachmann not pleased with 'liberal courts' on redistricting

I'm not "pleased" with the redistricting either. I'm still stuck with Bachmann not representing me and I have 2 incumbent Republicans for MN House now in my district. Bachmann needs to go away.

I now have 2 redpublican representatives for my state rep. And I'm in the new 6th. How unlucky can a person get?

Posted on 02/21/12 at 04:16 pm in response to Bachmann to seek 6th District seat despite redistricting

She didn't represent the old 6th even when she lived in it as an Iowa girl. Why should not living in the new 6th change anything for her? Should she be elected she can continue to collect her fat salary and to die for health insurance without lifting a finger.

I saw Target's article on data mining. Perhaps Tea Partiers should be more afraid of big corporations than big gubmint.

That said, Target consistently sends to our household the most wildly off base coupons you could ever send. We may use credit or debit cards at our rare trips to Target but we've not bought a diaper or formula or baby food in over 25 years and that's all we get coupons for from them.
