MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Let's look at this paragraph:
"Paulsen’s writings in opposition to abortion rights and Obamacare have been published by the Whitherspoon Institute, the same religious-right think tank that helped underwrite a widely criticized University of Texas study suggesting that life outcomes were dramatically worse for children whose parents had a same-sex relationship."
Paulsen wrote something ("A") that was published by X. X funded a study ("B") that was widely criticized. Therefore...
...Jackson, would be if a company funded many things, including the National Enquirer. Then a professor has something published in something else funded by the company. Finally, the professor would write a third piece, not published by the National Enquirer or with any connection to the company.
Whew. My head is spinning.
...referring to Charles Krauthammer as a "corpse."

People in glass radio studios shouldn't throw stones.
The doll was hanging, but was it in a "noose"?
Joe, you missed my point. I was not questioning why a noose is offensive, but whether it was, in fact, an actual noose in this case. That could shed some light on the intentions of the students.
As the Glean is news aggregation, it is worth discussing whether the "noose" in the title is an accurate reflection of the stories linked. See the Star Tribune excerpt below, for example. It seems this is at least a point of contention.
Finally, I know a little about history and...
Interesting photo choice on a story about suburban sprawl.
Eric, Here is what you said the last time you lauded Former VP Mondale for his wisdom on the filibuster:
When I wrote my piece, I was unaware of Mondale's 2005 op-ed (co-authored with Dave Durenberger) defending the filibuster. Thanks to you and others, I've now read it. The main point of that piece (that Mondale believes the filibuster should exist) is consistent with what he told me in our interview. He made one reference to the 60-vote threshold and didn't say that it should be...
It is very generous of your old girlfriend to transfer keepsakes to your wife. She got the guy AND the jewelry. Pretty good deal.
"Whenever a school creates what is technically known as a limited public format --..."
Uh, that should be limited public _forum_.
Anyway, the public forum doctrine also protects clubs like Gay Straight Alliances and atheist/skeptics clubs. How should the law be changed in your view?
Let me guess, Eric. You were a hawk before you read this book. And it is a good thing that you took the "blinders" off and stopped believing "rubbish." The truth is "virtually indisputable." No confirmation bias here.
"And I can’t help but feel that even quoting from it at such length and with such approbation might be enough to get me on a list somewhere for closer watching."
Yup. Anyone who disagrees with you is a member of the totalitarian secret police.
Great...
