May Minnesotans remember that this is an issue of human dignity. It is an issue of treating another like you would want to be treated. It is an issue of love. We all have the desire to find love and long for that love to be affirmed and supported by our families and friends. Let us be about living in grace and finding the goodness in others. As a couple who has been blessed with a 40 year marriage, we rejoiced as our 3 oldest children found love and got married. We want for our gay son...

Kalley King Yanta, this mother would love to have coffee with you. I would also like you to meet my son Jacob. He happens to be gay. I long for the day of his equality. I can promise you that if he finds a deep and true love and gets married... your marriage won't be harmed in any way.

Can we talk about your concerns with Jacob getting married? If you are going to be the voice of those who feel they must protect their marriages from people like my son, I hope you take the time...

I am going to stand on my deck tonight and look to the heavens ... surely God will send that miracle to Michele with great fanfare ... the night sky will glow in glory and the angels will sing Alleluia. She is marching in God's army now... sent to bring this sinful nation to a true theocracy.

Thank you to Beth Hawkins and MinnPost for this indepth story.

Our son Jacob was harrassed at his high school when students started to guess he was gay. We are grateful to the teachers, his guidance counselor and principal who took action. Jacob was the only out student at his high school at that time. He started a gay/straight alliance there and I know it has helped other gay students realize they are not alone. That is so important when the students are that age.

Wonderful story! Thank you, MinnPost!

Hugs to Nathan! This mother appreciates all you have done!

Marriage matters to me. It matters so much I can't deny anyone its gifts. It matters so much that I am filled with joy in watching another couple exchange their vows and begin their own precious and unique family. Thank you for this lovely piece ... written with love.

Our family is grateful for all she has done in the past to make Minnesota a special place to live. This story brings us hope for the future of Minnesota and also, for the day of equality for our son. Thank you, Alida.

You asked if we felt it looked like him. I saw photo of it earlier and my first thought was ... it doesn't look like him. There is no emotion or life in his face. It almost seems fitting as I feel he really was a candidate for President more than a Governor of Minnesota.

A plain white backround... thought for sure he would have American flags flying, children cheering and jets flying overhead ... much like his ads for President.

We are thrilled Richard will be leading this fight for justice and equality.
