This sounds like an obituary.

Not having the DFL in control of either the House or the Senate, Gov. Dayton controls his party far more than he would have had if it were not the case.

But what has he done other than make some appointments at a time where budgets will be decreasing and there is no option for major projects? The Republicans seem to be controlling the agenda. And they seem to be ignoring the governor. There might be two or three constitutional amendments...

Scott Dibble had an impassioned op-ed in the Strib this morning supporting Planned Parenthood's funding.

One of the commenters wondered what his position would be if science discovered the "gay gene" and all the homosexual babies start to get aborted.

China and India are seeing millions of their female babies aborted. No doubt that is true in many other countries also.

Interesting philosophy.

Employee falls asleep; suspended; more people hired to keep him company in the future.

Why am I thinking that if the employees who fall asleep are immediately fired that the problem of sleep would disappear at no additional cost to the government?

You might have to purchase some of those systems that night watchmen use to let their bosses know that they are making their rounds of buildings.

If the South had been allowed to secede, probably the North and the South would have stayed neutral in WWI to avoid entering on opposite sides in that war.

Germany, France and England would have collapsed from exhaustion and a true armistice would have resulted with no punitive damages assessed against Germany. Poland nor Central European nations remain under German and A-H control.

How come we never see a photo or a drawing of the coal-burning electric power plant in Oak Park Heights between Stillwater and Bayport? That facility was built in the 1960s.

Opponents of a new bridge love to pretend that the St. Croix south of the north city limits of Stillwater is a Wild River, inhabited by prehistoric saber toothed tigers and the like.

In fact, it is a busy commercial river with thousands of boats ranging in size from kayaks up to tows pushing barge-loads of...

RE: Fuming

More evidence that the DFL really doesn't believe in democracy because they believe that only they are the repository of truth.

If they wrestled in the halls at school, or in the back yard, it would be statutory rape.

Do you think John Marty would want to spend a lot of time talking to Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life or the National Rifle Association.

Those guys must get hundreds of requests for meetings every month. Is that a good use of their time to talk to people whom they violently oppose?

I was at a "rally" in the State Capitol Rotunda today. The 150-200 in attendance were told to go down to the governor's office and let him know how much they appreciated him, etc.

I listened to him for the first time this morning. Sorry everybody. Or, you're welcome, everybody else.

It must be the flu that I've been fighting for a week.

"I can't help but wonder what it would do to the overall cost of" medical care, television, newspapers and magazines if the ads and spots for pharmaceutical drugs aimed at patients, one-half of which contain disclaimers and usage dangers, were prohibited.

Are patients qualified to make recommendations to physicians? Do physicians prescribe drugs requested by patients for fear of losing them as patients?
